| Dr Peter Prendergast is medical director at Venus Medical Beauty and is recognised as a leader in the field of cosmetic medicine, both in Ireland and abroad. He recently co-founded the Irish Association of Cosmetic Doctors to help regulate the cosmetic industry in Ireland so that patients can source experienced cosmetic doctors and reputable medical clinics.
He is on the faculty of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and is actively involved in training doctors in aesthetic medicine at courses held all over the world. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and numerous other international societies. He is a Fellow of the American Academy for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the highest level to which members can aspire.
Dr Prendergast was the first in Ireland to perform the advanced VASER liposelection procedure for body contouring and is the only official VASER instructor here, chosen by Sound Surgical Technologies to train doctors all over the world. He was also the first to perform the Serdev method of scarless thread lifting and was one of the first doctors in Ireland to perform Macrolane™ injections for non-surgical breast enhancement. He writes regular features for national and international magazines, including Rejuvenate, Ireland’s first cosmetic enhancement magazine, and Asia Pacific Aesthetic Medicine Journal. He has also written a number of textbook chapters on body contouring, and co-authored the Postgraduate Diploma in Cosmetic Medicine for Leicester University, the first diploma of its kind. Dr Prendergast is fully registered with both the Irish Medical Council (No. 22913) and the General Medical Council (No. 4776567).
